I wrote this parody of the song "Can't Get Over You" by Joji with my friend Jean-Marc. We both really liked this song and because the flow of the lyrics was easy to write to we ended up using this one. The original song is about love, so we rewrote the lyrics of the parody to be about tax evasion. The concept of a billionaire singing about avoiding the IRS sounded really funny to us. We used Pro Tools and a phase-cancelling method to drown out Joji's vocals on the instrumental of this song, and then recorded our own vocals over it. It was really fun to record and then hear the lyrics over the beat for this. Overall I had a good time writing, recording, editing, and mixing the song with Jean-Marc.
